Update 2: The Technical Brainstorm

Step 2: Start thinking of the details.

Hmm. Trickier.

To start, I’ve decided I’m going to build my own mobile app. I’ve built websites and designed mobile apps before. I’m confident in my ability to build something aesthetically pleasing. Functional, is another story.

I know basic HTML code from my website and custom email template days but I’ve never coded a mobile app, and definitely not from scratch.

My first thought is to use a platform that promises you can build an app without any code. But if those platforms are like the numerous email, website, and CMS platforms that claim the same thing, I’ll need to use code to get the app to do all that I envision. So I’ll keep my expectations light and budget time for either learning code or recruiting help.

That in mind, I don’t have an end date in sight. Not yet anywhere. I’ll aim for a launch date once I have a better grasp on the tools I’ll use and a project roadmap in place.
